"Is this movie worth the wait?" Is probably a question those waiting in line were asking themselves as they stood in the unforgiving heat that was only relieved slightly by minute drops of rain from time to time.

It is about 6:00pm and the line is wrapped around the theater building. Chairs are set out, umbrellas are open and viewers are doing what ever they can to keep cool while they wait. An hour until show time and all you see are tickets being fanned in faces.

It is a quarter after 7:00pm, five more minutes until show time. The theater seating is all filled up with anxious viewers. The lights dim down and the crowd starts to clap and shout. An hour and fifty minutes of science fiction fantasy thrills.

An apartment manager who is hiding from a sad past finds a mysterious woman in the pool of the complex. He discovers this woman is in danger and is part of a bed-time story. The manager and apartment tenants discover they are a part of the bed-time story and try to help her back to safety from the frightening creature that is trying to prevent her from returning home.

M. Night Shyamalan is both director and screen writer for 'Lady in the water'. He also plays a role as one of the tenants. Shyamalan has a creative and unique style of  writing. ‘Lady in the Water’ was not only a thrilling film but had a touch of humor in it which made the film even better.

The credits begin to roll and the lights come on. So, was the movie worth the wait? Judging by the thunderous applause of the viewers the answer is a very solid "Yes!"

“It wasn’t what I expected, but it turned out to be good anyways!” is what I heard from one viewer.

I give it two thumbs up in my book.
