Visit Tokyo Steakhouse to experience some of the best teppanyaki in Fresno...

Lauren Verduzco - Nov 10, 2010

Tokyo Steakhouse is just one of the many sushi and teppanyaki restaurants that surround the Fresno/Clovis area… but it is my favorite. Now I know many people have their own opinions on what restaurant has the best teppanyaki in Fresno, especially with places such as Japanese Kitchen, Edo-Ya, and Sakanaya in the running. However, Tokyo Steakhouse doesn’t even compare. I have been here on many occasions and have never had to wait to be seated, even coming in with a large party. The staff is very good at making accommodations for large parties and getting you seated right away. The décor of the restaurant is just like any other Japanese restaurant, with elephant statues and pictures of Asian floral designs on the wall but it comes down to the food that makes this place beat out the usual.

My friends and I love going out to teppanyaki whenever we get the chance too. While writing this article I even surprised myself at how many teppanyaki places I have been to in Fresno. We seem to have hit quite a few of them, one friend likes one place for their rice, another friend for their sauce, so we always seem to be sampling out the options. Until we came across Tokyo Steakhouse. Since then we have not been sampling quite as often. Tokyo Steakhouse definitely astounded all of us because we all seem to agree on the same thing, which rarely happens, the food!

Their teppanyaki is prepared the same way where a fairly humorous waiter who adds some delightful banter to the table cooks your food in front of you. The food is always made just the way you order it; you can count on your chicken, steak, or shrimp cooked perfectly. If you opt out of the teppanyaki meal, many people take a liking to the calamari steak and of course, their generous portions of sushi. The service is attentive and drinks are always filled without asking.  The restaurant does not charge when you ask for a side of sauce like other teppanyaki restaurants do, this is a good thing in my book because their sweet and spicy sauce is too die for. But wait, I have not mentioned the best part of Tokyo Steakhouse yet and probably a favorite part of everyone’s teppanyaki meal, they put bacon in their fried rice…yes I said it. Bacon. Their fried rice tastes even more amazing because of this simple ingredient and many people will come in just for that specific detail.

I would definitely recommend Tokyo Steakhouse for a meal with friends or a romantic dinner for two. Either way, it is worth your money. Great customer service and great food all in one place, if teppanayki is your thing, this is the spot for you...but don't forget the sauce on the side!
